Community Engagement

Overview

At the beginning of Veritas School’s 14th year, a permanent campus was secured in stately and historically significant buildings in Northside Richmond. With the acquisition of this site, year-over-year increasing enrollment and proven leadership, Veritas School moved from a thriving start-up to an established and consequential educational alternative in metropolitan Richmond.

This new reality presents several unique opportunities: significant growth in programs, including robust art and athletic offerings, national recruitment of top faculty, and an ever-increasing and diverse student applicant pool. While service to others has always been a core principle of faithful Christian presence, strategic and intentional engagement with the local Richmond community is a growing joy and priority at Veritas School.

Through local relationships, Veritas has been honored to provide volunteers for the Special Olympics, local nursing homes, Run for Mukhanyo, the 30 Hour Famine, the Children’s Hospital of Richmond, the Central Virginia Food Bank, the Greater Richmond YMCA, and the East End Cemetery Reclamation Project.

Through one-on-one conversations and an Upper School Volunteer Fair, the school also assists with placement of interested students in volunteer roles with local ministries, for example, Elijah House Academy, CrossOver Ministries, CHAT, Youth Life, Young Life, Shalom Farms, STEP and others.

We look forward to new and strengthened partnerships in the coming years, with a particular emphasis on campus hospitality to the school’s immediate neighborhood and broader community.
